This course is the start of passing the torch - an attempt to create a learnable system of bodywork paired with therapeutic tools for efficiency. This fall there will be three separate Symmetry = Success courses, which will be held at the Matrix Training Facility on September 26-27, October 24-25, and November 14-15, 2015.
Classes are kept VERY small so you must email or call before paying. There is the opportunity to bring your own horse, however you must contact Matrix beforehand if you are interested in bringing horses. Also, there is plenty of room for living quarter trailers.
Who Should Take the Class: Exposes therapists to a bodywork system that is a blend of several types of therapies, which creates a more thorough method to accomplish the end goal of comfort and soundness for the horse. Primarily for equine therapists looking for indepth knowledge on unique and effective bodywork techniques and a specialized evaluation system. Knowledgeable horse owners looking to keep their own horses sound will also benefit from the material provided.
Course Description: Symmetry = Success (Module 1) is unlike any course you have taken. Learn why massage, chiropractic, stretching, and other types of bodywork doesn’t always get the job done. Learn what you might be doing that is not beneficial. Learn repeatable steps to improve your horse. Over the course of two days, learn how to make significant changes and see the difference with newly educated eyes.
The course is two days long and is taught by Bambi Dore. Classroom and hands-on clinic teaching the introduction to Bambi’s bodywork techniques, including a system to evaluate the entire horse and how to address the issues that are found.
Being able to assess the horse’s whole body and determine the next step in a timely and efficient manner is the big difference between an average therapist and an excellent one. Each session is meant to improve the horse significantly, and this course will help you do just that. If you have taken massage courses you'll find this course is not that. This is not the same as other types of massage and bodywork courses, but it does incorporate using your hands and therapy tools.

If desired, you can bring your case studies and take the Matrix Best-Vet Certification Test on Sunday at 3:30pm after the Symmetry = Success class has completed. About the Bodywork Course
Bambi Dore’s unique blend of bodywork is influenced by her training in cranial sacral, myofascial release, osteopathy, soft chiropractic, oriental medicine, and therapy tools. Her courses on learning bodywork are offered in Level 1 and Level 2 options. The Level 1 course was created to introduce the steps in a repeatable fashion. It is designed to help others learn a system for whole body evaluation and addressing the issues found.
The upcoming classes are all the two day, Level 1 Symmetry = Soundness course hosted by Matrix Therapy Products. There will be lunch and course materials provided, and horses on site for hands-on practice.
For decades lucky clients of Bambi have been in awe of her ability to see what needs to be done and to accomplish it. To her, animals are billboards showing the obvious issues that need fixing. Meanwhile, the untrained watch in bewilderment as she quietly puts a horse back together.
Bambi has been working in the bodywork field for around 30 years, and referral is the only way you learn about Bambi. She has no website, business cards, or advertising for her services but still manages to have a long waiting list.
Bambi Dore's Bio
Bambi maintains a large clientele list in the Northwest, owns six horses, and has just started roping lessons. In her youth, Bambi rode steeple chase and dressage in Europe. She returned to the US in the 60s, accepting a position as a dressage trainer in Pebble Beach, CA. A short marriage to an (excellent) farrier and having a daughter facilitated a move to the Northwest. She then expanded to eventing as both trainer and rider. Also, Bambi operated a thoroughbred breeding program and lesson barn in dressage, jumping, and cross country.
Therapy entered into her life when she was seriously injured. This path took her on a personal quest to get out of a wheel chair. The list of courses she has taken is extensive. Each time looking for that special nugget of information for new inspiration. She started applying that knowledge to her horses, then to clients’ horses. She was often used by many companies as the testing ground for new therapy equipment and has a keen sense of what is good for horses and what equipment is not.
Bambi is one of the nicest and most humble instructors you'll ever have and you’d be hard pressed to find anyone with as much experience and knowledge about caring for horses. As her clients often say, “I wish I had an ounce of her knowledge.”
